Local Eats: Kara Mia

It’s been a while since I’ve been to this Mississauga restaurant. Kara Mia opened in 2009, and I’ve been there once, and never came back. At that time, they served a lunch buffet which didn’t have a lot of selection and the beef was dry and overcooked. I figured 3 years is enough time to heal the wounds of such an experience so I returned to the restaurant last month to give the, another chance.

As I found out, this restaurant in Mississauga is the second of two locations, and is owned by a Moroccan born, Italy trained chef. This restaurant is quite unique in the area for offering Halal Italian cuisine.

I ordered the Fettucini Kara Mia ($8.95), grilled chicken breast sautéed with sundried tomatoes and spinach in Alfredo sauce, topped with feta cheese. The dish was very well composed, and the variety of ingredients and flavours were in harmony together. Great experience, and will definitely return.
